No New Eyeball News - sniff!!!!!!

OK so I went to TLC today for the latest exam. I spent all total of about 5 seconds per eye watching a blue slit of light go around in a circle motion. The did this twice per eye. Very psychedelic like the 60s and 70s but without any assistance!!! Ha, ha!!! Seriously, you had to sit with your head still watching the light without blinking or moving so that it would do another measurement of your eyeball. But since it's a technician that does the exam, no news until the doctor reads his email, reviews it and then determines what the next step will be and when. So I'm without any new info for a couple of days. Disappointing as I was hoping to have scheduled a date today. But will wait to hear from the TLC Doc in Frederick -- hopefully soon. Otherwise, I will be calling him to get news myself.

More to come later. I'm digging up pics of other projects to post. Will do so later.

Be good!

Still Learning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so Rosemary and Jana are experts at this blogging thing. I'm a beginner, a virgin as it may be in this internet journalling world. Hmm, kind of a scary thought wouldn't you say?? But I have to learn how to come on into the blog and put down thoughts on a REGULAR basis so as not to worry others on why I haven't been on lately.

It was a grueling week but I made it through yet again. I didn't have enought time to read most of my emails let alone blog...... But the fun yesterday with Miss RO really helped put the icing on the cake.

This 2008 has been one of many changes for me. But all in all it's taking a turn for the better. I am embracing the changes, both good and bad, as best I can. I think I'm doing rather well at it but others may disagree. And that's their prerogative but I don't really care. Tee, heeee. I'm taking "my time" and learning that I don't have to settle for what others want me to do. A few folks have said "you need to make your own decisions and do what YOU need to do and not what you think others want you to do!" Kind of profound. I'm listening now. Yoga is teaching me to "take time for myself and listen to the inner me". Did you know it's ok to do that? It's great when you actually start practicing things for yourselves. I think it's taken me a long time to get to this place in my life but I've also had time to reflect on what I want out of life lately. It may not be perfect but it's my life. And today, I like it! Now that's not to say tomorrow will be the same. Ha, ha. But I sure hope so. It's moving in the right direction anyway and that's a very good direction.

So, now out of the deep thoughts and into the fun and relaxation things we need to help us through reality!!!!! Ok, RO & JANA when are we gonna get together and scrap some more??? I need another fix before the next GASC 2009. We gotta figure this one out. My schedule's a little crazy what with trying to get lasik done on my eyeballs (did you see those old glasses in the last post---it's like something out of the 90s or something!!!! OMG they are!!!!), new stuff at my new job (I LOVE IT & I did make the right move at the right time too!!!!!), getting ready to take an adorable class at my Hagerstown LSS for Spooky Day (oh so cute, it's the castle done up spooky with Cousin Itttt and witches and goblins...), going to OC for a weekend Celena to scrappppppp away (Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee), and then going to FL to see my family at both Turkey Day (sorry Rosemary next year I will come to your house!!) and Christmas this year. That makes me the trouble maker because I've got the rest of my year planned out and won't be able to make a scrap til early 2009 unless we can fit it in between all those things. Probably not happening wiht your schedules either but it's a nice thought!!!!! Maybe sometime in the winter when the weather cooperates and we can drive to a central place and play. Think about it. Rosemary mentioned it again yesterday and I love the idea!!!

Ok so no posts for a week and now you got two in a day. I'm trying!!!!!!!!!!!! Ha, ha, ha!

Keep your fingers crossed for me. I go for my third appointment on my eyes on Tuesday (it will be 12 days without contact lenses in eyes - yuck!!) to see if verdict is lasik or prk. But last Monday at least the doc said we could do one or the other. I'm hoping for lasik -- faster recoup period and less obtrusive to the eyes. But they will both work and are both alternatives to my bad eye sight.

Have a GREAT week!!!

RO & I Played ALL DAY

Well yesterday Rosemary & I went to the Stamping Extravaganza in Westminster. Boy did we have a GREAT time! Did we spend money??? Nawwwww, we subsidized the declining economy!!!! We got stamps on wooden blocks, clear unmounted stamps, other unmounted stamps, paints, pens, stencils, ribbons, spools.... You name it I think we came home with it. Of course our trip started out at the local Starbucks for a pick me up. Then on to see what other trouble we could find. Find it we did but it was a blast. Then we met David had kept on going with dinner out at our local pizza place. It was a fun day!!!! Now we are recouperating and resting for the next big day. And we took Flat Connie so she got to visit and eat dinner with us too. Another fun day together with my buddy RO!!!! Thank you. You made my week!!!

Cake Decorating 101 A La Karen

Being a Jack of All Trades, last night I followed up on my promise to help Celena make a rocking b-day cake for her daughter's 7th b-day party. Madison wanted to have a guitar cake like Hannah's of course. So using my cake baking supplies, Celena made a strawberry cake (pink of course you silly!!!) and traced out Madi's guitar. She then learned "how to crumb a cake", applied the icing with little tips gathered over the years from my many classes and mistakes too (because you DO learn from your mistakes) and then on to piping those shells, stars and lines too. Here's the finished product. As she said it's just A ROCKN KICK A** CAKE and being her first, I think she got an A+++++ for her project. Enjoy!!!!

My Latest Project

I have a friend who has been battling breast cancer and winning. She is my Warrior Woman. So to keep her spirits up, I have been creating and sending little projects to her during her chemo and radiation treatments. The last package contained an altered bra which I scraplifted from the internet. I liked the idea so much that I lifted it for a good cause! Carolyn has taken the project to the cancer ward and they thought it would be a great reminder for monthly breast exams. See what you think.

I also sent the card also found on the internet from some very talented folks. The leopard theme is an inside joke! It just seemed to fit!

My First Post

Ok to my two friends, Rosemary and Jana, I'm posting. Don't have much to say but it's a start. Now I just have to learn how to download pics and remember to add updates regularly to my "A Little Bit of That - KT" blog. How cool is this?!
